This vintage rug was made by a woman of the Berber tribes in the Atlas Mountains [probably Azilal region] of Morocco.Approximately 20-30 years old, this carpet would have originally been made by a Berber woman for personal use in her own home. She created it with wool and small portions of cotton thread, and permitted herself personal freedom in expressing her own creativity and values through North African symbology and colors as she wove these designs. This piece is one of a kind, and can be used as a rug or wall hanging.
The carpet is in excellent condition and will be washed prior to shipment. It will be ready to use as soon as you receive it. If you will be using it as a rug, we would suggest placing a non-stick pad underneath it to preserve the weave and keep it from sliding.
